Iron County Historical Society

Superintendent Records 1939 - 1954

This set of records contains the Iron County Superintendent of School's Consolidated School Records covering some 39 rural school districts in Iron County from the 1939-1940 school year through the 1953-1954 school year.  While all the images have been preserved as a means to ensure the records will never be lost, we cannot legally share them or provide public access to these records at this time as some of the students identified in these records are still alive. Until these records reach 100 years of age, the scanned images will not be made available on the website, nor will any requests for copies of the records be granted, nor will there be any public access to the records.

That said, there is still a significant amount of genealogical data that can and will be shared from these records.

All users can access free master indexes of teachers and students contained in these records.  The links to each index is below.

The full transcription for each school contains each teacher's given name and surname, the student's given name and surname, the school term (e.g., 1939 -40), the grade the student is attending, the parent or guardian's given name and surname, and the page title of the page with the information.  The transcriptions and other information about the schools are included in the Superintendents Records Transcriptions   page within the School Records tabe  in the Members Only area of the website.  The table below shows the schools with transcribed records.
